The Brief

An innovative firm of solicitors based in Surrey, Barlow Robbins have three offices across the UK, and a 120-strong workforce. However, their existing website wasn't an accurate reflection of the company's brand and values, and had limited functionality for clients in a market where industry leaders are consistently improving their lines of communication between client and product. The company approached us with an intention of creating a website that would place them firmly on the map.

The Approach

Working closely with both Barlow Robbins and a specialist legal advisor, the process saw both the site and the brand undergo a complete transformation. This included a completely fresh approach to photography, new clear and concise copy, helpful downloads and information, and a thorough examination of the site architecture. A fully searchable staff database was incorporated to allow clients to quickly find information about a specialist service, staff member, or office contact. Further functionality included a document repository functioned, which was developed to allow solicitors to share information with their clients via a secure online system. A future stage two of the project includes plans for clients to make payment online via a secure payment system.

And What Did We Learn?

The entire site is fully content-managed, in order to allow Barlow Robbins to update the majority of content themselves via a simple CMS facility. Since the site launch, traffic has increased considerably, as has the average time spent on the site. This is testament to the amount of sticky content on the site, and goes some way to meeting the original objective of developing an innovative site that pushed the boundaries of the current sector. Looking forwards, once stage two has been completed, we'll be working with Barlow Robbins to submit the site for industry awards, to earn it the recognition it deserves.
